The "V7 for Developers" class is a transition class that provides programmers with the information that they need to take advantage of all the new features and improvements provided in V7 of DB2 for z/OS.

SQL syntax and performance improvements are emphasized. This includes new ways of doing old things, static scrollable cursors, fetching one row only, improvements in max/min retrieval, identity columns, etc.

Also included in the class are changes that developers need to know about including Usability enhancements such as an overview of new utilities that can be used instead of programs, improved stored procedures, host-language precompiler services.

Also covered are Availability improvements and Performance enhancements such as more EXPLAIN information.

Finally, the course includes a short overview of what is available in V8 of DB2 for z/OS.
